Infant Program

The Infant Program provides a caring and educational environment that is the basis for individualized education that supports each child. This environment provides a safe and healthy venue in which the child will learn. In addition, the nurturing and responsive providers are individuals the children can trust to care for them as they grow and learn.

The daily schedule is flexible, adapting to the needs of the individual children. Activities include, but are not limited to:

• Hands-on activities
• Manipulative (physical pieces of equipment that can be manipulated, usually requiring the use of small muscle groups)
• Creative arts
• Sensory exploration
• Reading and stories
• Music

Goals of this Program include:

• Development of language through the use of stories and play
• Developing small and large motor control
• Developing an understanding of cause and effect relationships
• Object performance
• Development of the an awareness outside a child’s comfort zone through the use of developmentally appropriate materials such as soft toys, textural areas, objects to explore by mouth and push pull toys
